The wood-fired brick bake oven is rearing to go and will be waiting for your pizzas to go into it! Bring some dough (for pizza or loaf) or some pizza toppings and we’ll go from there. We will also have a BBQ on site for all of your grilling needs! Bring your family and friends as we celebrate the summer season 🙂

Soap-Making Workshop!
When: Wednesday, June 25
Time: 7pm start time
Where: Open Sky Co-op (12 Folkins Drive)
Cost: $10

Join April MacKinnon of Anointment Skincare who will teach us how to make soap! We will be concocting a beer soap, but because it takes time for the product to cure, each participant will go home with a bar of soap layered with herbs and flowers from the community garden.

Fundraising Ok. Quoi!? BBQ
When: Friday, August 1
Time: noon until 1pm
Where: Outside of Struts Gallery
Cost: Ranges from $5-10

This is the Community Garden’s biggest fundraiser of the year – all of the food is home made, local, organic, and as much is from our gardens as possible! Gluten-free, vegetarian, and meat options are all accounted for.

Herbal Infusion Workshop
When: Friday, August 8
Time: 3-4pm
Where: Sackville Community Garden
Cost: Free (donations welcome)

In this short workshop we will learn how to make a tea from ingredients at the garden. Feeling under the weather? Feeling like you need a pick-me-up? Different tea combinations will be discussed with CFI’s Estelle Drisdelle. Various teas will be able to be sampled after the workshop!

Felted Soap Workshop
When: Wednesday, August 29
Time: 6:30pm
Where: The outdoor classroom at the Sackville Community Garden

Sarah Mullin will be teaching us how to make bars of felted soap!  Why felt soap?  Imagine it as a glorious loofa made of natural materials (wool!) over some freshly made Anointment soap – take it in the shower and the wool will get suds-ey with the soap on the inside.  All materials will be provided, just bring yourself and a short sleeved shirt since we’ll be using lots of water and may get a bit messy (but it’s with soap, so it doesn’t really count).  Each participant will go home with a bar of felted soap.
Space is very limited so sign up here quickly!

DIY Hoop House
When: Saturday September 13
Time: 1pm
Where: Sackville Community Garden
Cost: Free (donations welcome)

Interested in season extension? We are too! Norm Hunter of Open Sky Co-op will teach us how to make a hoop house in this hands-on workshop. Season extension crops will be planted the same day, and participants are encouraged to help harvest and maintain the plot into the winter.
